Our Mission To have all First Nations signatory to Treaty 8 in British Columbia unite to Protect, Secure, and Manage the land and environment for economic and cultural uses for all future generations in the enhancement and implementation of the true spirit and intent of Treaty #8. About the Association - The Treaty 8 Tribal Association (T8TA) was incorporated in 1982 under the BC Societies Act. Treaty 8 Tribal Association acts as a coordinator, a facilitator, and technical support on various issues as mandated from time to time by the Council of Treaty 8 Tribal Association Chiefs. Purpose of this website - The mission of the Treaty 8 Tribal Association website is to engage Treaty 8 First Nation staff and community member interaction on initiatives that are important to T8 First Nations in BC. This website is designed to strengthen communication within the membership of Treaty 8 First Nations and to build general public awareness of BC Treaty #8 values and identity. T8TA is a service delivery organization that is funded by the Department of Indian Affairs and Northern Development (DIAND: Tribal Council Funding) to provide advisory services and claims research. This site: Provides resources for basic reference needs, Highlights Treaty 8 Project activities, Offers resources to meet Treaty 8 First Nation members' interests, Serves as a resource to support ongoing issues and needs, and Provides opportunity for Treaty 8 community members' questions and input.
